Most
diabetes treatment includes dietary changes and an exercise program.
In cases where blood glucose levels are high, insulin may be
administered until they can be brought down to a safe level.
Oral medications for type II diabetes are sometimes prescribed
when diet and exercise alone are not enough. Some people with
type II diabetes may eventually require regular insulin to keep
their blood glucose levels in control.
Dr. Jones, along with Steve and John, helps patients get started
on a treatment plan and monitor them throughout treatment. Two
dieticians on staff provide nutritional counseling and help patients
to recognize other factors that can affect blood sugar levels.
Dr. Jones' staff also provides insulin pumps and training on
how to use them.
